FOOD AND RESTAURANTS FOR LESS
One of the most amazing things about travel is getting to experience
another culture and the foods and people of the region. So how can you
get the full travel experience without spending a fortune? Follow some
of these tips and you will be on your way to eating better for less.
- Eat in local areas surrounding the tourist attractions. Going a few miles out of your way can save you money.
- See what your hotel offers, whether a free breakfast or finger foods at happy hour, this can be a great way to eat for nothing.
- Look for coupons at hotels and in the local yellow pages.
- Eat out for lunch instead of dinner. Many restaurants offer the same meals for less earlier in the day, so you get just as much food for less money.
- Take home the extras. Keeping the leftovers for a snack or even lunch or dinner the next day can provide you with a big savings.
- Split a meal. Many meals are super large, so consider splitting a meal with your traveling companion to save money.
- Ask hotel staff for suggestions. Most people working in the hotel will live in that area and therefore they probably know the best places to eat for less.
- Pack your own. Shopping and packing food to take with you is by far the best way to eat for less when traveling. Be sure to choose a place to stay that offers you a mini fridge and a microwave as having access to these can save you a lot of money.
- Choose cheaper menu items, like chicken dishes instead of beef, or order the specials to save some money.
Traveling cheaply can be one of the most rewarding experiences because it helps you think outside the box and allow you to explore things that you never thought possible.
